I FEEL LIKE A DRAMA WHORE, but this way people can link back to something so, yeah.
Some of you might remember this wank from around two weeks ago. For those of you who don't, the link runs it down pretty well, but for those who don't want to go to it (it is a pretty massive entry...)--
A user made a post to the LiveJournal community hetalia_wank. Someone commented to it, stating that following;
Which is offensive on it's own, but if it's a joke, she'll drop it, right? This isn't 4Chan, after all. But then she continued to call people who are sure they know a lot about history failed abortions. No, I kid you not.
Remember the rape thing? She continues with it, as though she honestly believes it. And then the giant wank happened and yeah.
Needless to say, I was appalled by this behaviour and found it to be reportable. Two weeks later, I received this email.
From the LiveJournal ToS:
What part of "go get raped" is not harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, hateful, or otherwise objectable?
What part of "go get raped" is not promoting physical harm or injury against a group or individual?
LiveJournal cannot get involved in fights between users -- which you can't claim because I didn't really bother getting involved in with this user (Who would?) -- and I understand this. But they chose to cover their ass with "it's just an opinion", which hateful statements like "go get raped" and "you're just a botched abortion" are not. They are insults, and they are as wrong as calling a homosexual a "faggot" or saying "God hates fags". LiveJournal has consistently proven that it is not as a business that keeps to its own Terms of Service. The incident in which one of their own staff members abused his power to harass a user comes to mind.
I don't know about you, but this offended me greatly. I might not be fully done with LiveJournal, but I feel more people should be aware of how they are handling this.
Oh yeah!! Should have noted this earlier, but if you'd like to link around to this, don't hesitate. It's what it's here for. (But do me a favor and don't link my LJ username, if you know it.)

they also do the decency of hiding theirs names so we can pick on them and tell them to get raped without feeling bad or seeming mean.

WELP. I bet they've failed to help with even worse things properly many times before. :'| I'm glad you made a public post, though.

I would have been okay with "we can't get involved with fights between users".
I don't know. I appreciate that they responded but I would have preferred an honest, professional answer.

Between this and the other user being harassed, and learning people have reported BEING harassed and then getting this in their inbox... yeah. I don't know. I just don't trust LJ.

But that's me being bitter, I'd never claim it as fact or anything like that.
